Locs of Luv Update

On this past September 5, 2013 Locs of Luv celebrated its One Year Anniversary at our new location in Escondido CA. Our address is 501 S. Escondido CA 92025, phone number 760-594-2844. Our salon hours are by appointment only. In August of this year Locs of Luv welcomed Certified Sisterlocks Consultant Renee of Natural Tresses-Diva. Renee is a Braider and Sisterlocks Consultant of many years as well as an accomplished stylist. Renee works at Locs of Luv on select Saturdays by appointment only. Locs of Luv is in the process of building a new Blog page, please browse the archives on this blog to see my work as the pictures have not all been uploaded to the new blog. We plan to have the new blog fully functional by January 31, 2014. Summer is in full swing and for those of us who lead active lives be it hiking, swimming, jogging or walking make sure you take extra special care of your locks. After working out refresh your locks by shampooing and following up with a moisturizer from Sisterlocks. The right products as always for Sisterlocks or  Sisterlocks Products! Brotherslocks can be started with 1 1/2 to 2 inches of natural growth, sometimes more length is required because of the hair type.  Brotherlocks are traditionally larger than Sisterlocks. Sisters desire the flexibility of the smaller locks.  Brotherlocks as with Sisterlocks are started and maintained without the aide of any type of wax or chemicals thus creating a more organic lock.

The only regrets I have with getting Sisterlocks Is that I didn't do it sooner!

The client below decided to keep her permed ends, this allowed for more styling options. To start Sisterlocks you need not initially trim off the permed ends, keep in mind though that the permed hair will not be locked as it is permanently altered and therefore won't lock.  Trimming the permed ends can be done once the locks settle in. The updo the client is wearing is accomplished by spritzing the hair lightly with water, two strand twist small sections and secure by twisting the ends around the base of the lock. Once dry, feather the sides to frame the face and secure the back in a French Twist with smooth tipped bobby pins.  Lilla Rose hair accessories work really well in securing updos check out my  lilla rose web-site @www.lillarose.biz/cathythomas  and see the many varieties of Flexi-clips that are featured there.

This June marks my one year anniversary being full time. It's been a super busy year and I've enjoyed getting to meet so many wonderful people along the way. I also appreciate your visiting my blog page and look forward to making your acquaintance if you should decide to come home to Sisterlocks.

I continue to count my blessings, truly God has been good to me.  I give Him all the praise and glory for how he has positioned me in this New Year.  I look forward to continued service to my existing clients and those who desire to be a part of the "Locs By Cathy" community.  My best to all in 2012.
